Ein riesengroßer Spaß und ein toller Blickfang

Begonnen habe ich mit dem Puzzle, was – ganz Ravensburger – perfekt gepasst hat. So entstand nach 108 Teilen der Sockel für die Freiheitsstatue. Nun ging es ans „Basteln“. Zuerst habe ich die Batterien in das LED Licht eingesetzt, dieses dann in die vorgegebene Vertiefung der Plastikhalterung gelegt. Anschließend habe ich die Halteklipse für den Sockel durch die Abdeckung gesteckt (hierbei muss aufgepasst werden, dass sie richtig herum eingesteckt werden, sonst hält der Sockel hinterher nicht) und sie dann auf der Plastikhalterung festgemacht. Danach habe ich den Sockel in den Halteklipsen befestigt, die Abdeckung aufgelegt und die Freiheitsstatue oben aufgestellt. Klasse finde ich das LED Licht, denn gerade in der Dämmerung und bei Dunkelheit sieht das richtig super aus. Ein zusätzliches Plus ist die Auswahl des Lichtes, je nach Laune kann man es als weißes Dauerlicht oder eben als bunten Farbwechsel einstellen. Auch die Freiheitsstatue selbst ist naturgetreu nachgebildet und bringt New York direkt ins heimische Wohnzimmer. Das einzige Manko ist der Plastiksockel, der meiner Meinung nach hochwertiger sein müsste. Er ist aus sehr dünnem Plastik und kam bei mir schon mit einem Riss an. Wenn dieser noch aus etwas stabilerem Kunststoff wäre, wäre das Puzzle mehr als nur perfekt. Aber das tut dem Spaß und dem Aussehen keinen Abbruch, das Puzzlen / Bauen macht unglaublich viel Spaß und das Endergebnis ist wirklich sehenswert und ein toller Blickfang.

I started with the puzzle, which - in true Ravensburger fashion - fitted perfectly. After 108 pieces, the base for the Statue of Liberty was created. Now it was time to "tinker". Firstly, I inserted the batteries into the LED light and then placed it in the recess provided in the plastic holder. Then I put the clips for the base through the cover (make sure you put them in the right way round, otherwise the base won't stay in place afterwards) and attached them to the plastic holder. I then attached the base to the retaining clips, put the cover on and placed the Statue of Liberty on top. I really like the LED light, because it looks really great at dusk and in the dark. An additional plus is the choice of light, depending on your mood you can set it as a white continuous light or as a bright colour change. The Statue of Liberty itself is also faithfully reproduced and brings New York right into your living room. The only drawback is the plastic base, which in my opinion should be of a higher quality. It is made of very thin plastic and arrived with a crack. If it were made of a more stable plastic, the puzzle would be more than just perfect. But that doesn't detract from the fun and the look, the puzzle/building is incredibly fun and the end result is really worth seeing and a great eye-catcher.
