GraviTrax

GraviTrax

What is GraviTrax?

GraviTrax is an interactive marble run that allows players to design and build tracks, whilst experimenting with gravity, magnetism and kinetics to explore endless possibilities and infinite creativity.

GraviTrax

Who is GraviTrax suitable for?

For anyone aged 8 years and up. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys constructing and creating their own marble run track systems.

GraviTrax

Can you learn anything while playing with GraviTrax?

GraviTrax makes gravity a playful experience - as well as exploring other physical laws like magnetism and kinetics. In addition, fine motor skills and spatial thinking and problem solving skills are also developed. GraviTrax is all about creativity and trying things out, because there is no “right” or “wrong” when you construct your track.

GraviTrax

Is there a GraviTrax YouTube channel?

If you’re in the UK you can follow the Ravensburger UK YouTube channel for some track inspiration https://www.youtube.com
Or follow our international GraviTrax channel https://www.youtube.com

GraviTrax

Can the Extensions be played with on their own?

No, they have to be combined with any starter set.

GraviTrax

Can I combine any extension with any starter set?

Yes, with GraviTrax everything is compatible. You can combine any extension from either the classic or the PRO range with either the classic or the PRO Starter Sets. That’s is what makes GraviTrax so much fun to play with, you can keep adding, expanding and extending as much as you like – everything works together.

GraviTrax

As a beginner, can I start with the PRO Starter Set?

Yes absolutely. GraviTrax PRO is a little more challenging than the classic white Starter Set but by no means only for professionals. Just choose your favourite Starter Set and go from there.

GraviTrax

In the GraviTrax PRO Vertical Starter Set, how high are the pillars?

One pillar is the same height as 7 base tiles.

GraviTrax

What should I pay attention to when playing with the Loop extension?

The ball needs to be at the right speed to roll through the loop. Because of how it is constructed, the Loop works best when the ball is travelling really fast.

GraviTrax

Does the Lift work automatically?

No, the lift has to be operated manually. Press the button on the base of the lift each time you want to elevate a ball onto the track.

GraviTrax

Do you need a Starter Set to get Started?

Yes, all the components in the Starter Set were selected to help you get started straight away. A construction plan and instruction booklet is also included to help you get started and build your own tracks. For more inspiration, why not download the FREE APP? That way you can take GraviTrax along anywhere, test new track layouts before building them and try out trick shots.

GraviTrax

What does GraviTrax mean?

The word GraviTrax is a made-up name merging gravity and tracks. Therefore, it means playing with gravity and building complex paths.

GraviTrax

Do I have to use special balls?

Yes, only use the balls that come in the sets. The track is configured so that the marbles fit through the curves and rails, and only GraviTrax balls must be used. It is worth knowing that across the range there are two different ball sizes; The balls that roll down the track and the slightly larger ones that are used as weights on the Catapult, for example. Do not use the weight-balls to roll down the track, as these are slightly larger and can get stuck in your track.

GraviTrax

Are the tracks made of metal?

No, the track rails are made of grey-coloured hard plastic.

GraviTrax

What does the Magnetic Cannon do?

Using magnetic forces, the Magnetic Cannon propels your marble forward on the track and increases the speed of the travelling marble. It creates a more dynamic interaction and is a lot of fun when combined with other extensions like the Catapult or the Loop.

GraviTrax

In which set are the long curved rails included? What is their function?

The long curved tracks are included in the Tunnel Extension Set. These tracks are really helpful to increase the speed of the ball by using the force of gravity.

GraviTrax

In which set are low and thin rail included? Do these influence the speed of the marble?

Both these rails are included in the Bridges Extension Set. While the thin rail accelerates the ball, the extra long slow rail slows it down.

GraviTrax

What distinguishes PRO from the classic line?

The PRO sets are more complex and therefore a little more demanding. They allow you to build tall and can easily be identified by the black packaging. Although these sets are a little more challenging, you don’t have to be an expert at GraviTrax to start with these.

GraviTrax

Which extensions work together to form a more dynamic combination?

All GraviTrax products are fully compatible, and you can combine any extension with any starter set. The following extension work together particularly well:
- The Magnetic Cannon and the Loop
- Place 3x Flippers in quick succession to form a staircase going up
- The Volcano works really well with the TipTube
- Combine the PRO Mixer with the Volcano, or the PRO Splitter with the Volcano

Is my puzzle suitable to glue with puzzle conserver?

The Ravensburger Puzzle Conserver provides sufficient stability for puzzles with up to 500 pieces.
An adhesive hook can be fixed to these puzzles to hang them right on the wall.

Puzzles with more than 500 pieces require backing for additional support. Plywood panels or sturdy cardboard are best suited for this purpose. To glue the puzzle to the backing, we recommend using our Ravensburger Puzzle Conserver.

For further advice on gluing puzzles or using puzzle conserver please get in touch with [email protected].

How to hang your puzzle?

We can only offer “how to” tips on how to hang your puzzle. For more information on material and hanging brackets, we recommend consulting a specialist in your local hardware store.

Glue is not always required when looking to hang a puzzle. Puzzles can be clamped into a picture frame and hung without gluing. The advantage here is that the puzzle can be assembled again or exchanged for a different image.

It is advisable to order the backing or have it cut to size after the puzzle is completed and can be measured, as the dimensions of the finished puzzle may differ from the (approximate) dimensions printed on the box, since the puzzle is slightly larger due to the punching process during production. Other factors, like the prevailing humidity, may also influence the actual size of the puzzle.

When using plywood or chipboard for backing its ideal to;

  • Use thin (lightweight) plywood or chipboard
  •  Have the material cut to a transport-friendly size in your hardware store (2, 4, or more panels)
  • Check the approximate dimensions of your puzzle
  • Lay your puzzle pieces out evenly when gluing onto backing or spraying with puzzle conserver
  • Allow the puzzle to dry and seal for the recomended gluing time detailed on your glue/conserver instructions
  • Treat the final backing with universal wood/cardboard glue, wood paste or spray glue
  • Remember to lay the completed puzzle face down on the picture side (the blue back of the puzzle now faces up)

Is glue required?

Thanks to Easy Click Technology, the plastic puzzle pieces fit together precisely. This creates sturdy three-dimensional puzzle objects from individually formed and sometimes bendable puzzle pieces – no glue is required.

3D Puzzles

How to assemble my 3D puzzle?

For all 3D-Puzzles that have corner pieces, bend them in advance before you do the puzzle. It is helpful to carefully pre-bend the corner pieces by more than 90° so that these puzzle pieces lock at right angles. Afterwards, you can try to press – especially on the corners – so that the hinges of the puzzle pieces click easily into place. This ensures that the framework fits well in the puzzle's base and the decorative frame. The narrowest part of all our puzzle pieces is the bottom area of the tab. That’s why the puzzle piece shouldn’t be held by the tab when you bend it, because it might otherwise break there. We recommend only holding the puzzle piece by the wider part while bending. As a general rule: assemble the puzzle with a bit of pressure until the hinge clicks into the right place. Lay the puzzle pieces flat on the table: for best results, lay one side on the tabletop and slowly bend the other side up with care.

How to removing paint stains?

It is generally more difficult to remove already dried and set paint from clothing. That’s why it is advisable to treat paint stains as soon as possible. When using solvents, please test in advance on a concealed area to see if the material is colorfast. They may damage or alter the color of the fabric. Also observe the textile care symbols on the affected garment. After following the abovementioned points, you can try the following tip: dissolve the paint, for instance, with concentrated 96% volume alcohol. Providing that you can use alcohol on the fabric, you should soak the paint stain for an ample period of time. Then, wash the garment by hand and then in the washing machine to remove the dissolved paint from the fabric. The effectiveness of this method will, however, depend on the color of the paint and the affected fabric.

What about the consistency and contents of the paints and brushes?

Materials in our painting by numbers sets: the paintbrushes are vegan, since they are made of synthetic hair. Consistency of the paints: according to our suppliers, the components of the paints are all of non-organic origin. For reasons of sustainability and in view of the fact that our painting by numbers sets are frequently used by children, we have decided not to make any compromises in the production of our paints and to design the formulation in such a way that it only contains a minimum of preservatives. However, the use of such small amounts of preservatives affects the durability of the inks and their consistency: The fluidity of the paints is limited to a period of about 2 years from production, after which they begin to dry out. We willingly accept this disadvantage, because it is more important to us that the paints are safe – for example in the event of accidental contact with the mouth – than to ensure their fluidity for a longer period of time. We will be happy to supply you with additional pots of paint if necessary! To be able to send you the desired colors, please indicate the article number of your painting by numbers set and the two-digit color numbers on the individual paint pot. Please use our contact form for this purpose.
